Vauxhall have had a fantastic run in the city car segment with the popular Corsa but for 2012 the UK car manufacturer decided to create something different. Taking a spot in the fast emerging A-segment, the new car is called the Adam and is powered by either a 1.2 or 1.4 litre engine, Vauxhall is promising miles per gallon of 56.6.
As this is a vehicle aimed at the younger market, the inside matters as much as the outside. The interior can be customised with numerous seat colours, dash colours and a unique headliner that features LEDs creating the illusion of a starry night, something we’re used to seeing in Rolls Royces.
Technology gets a good look in too with an infotainment system that’s compatible with both Android and Apple’s iOS operating systems, a first for the industry. An advanced parking system figures out which spot is best then parks the car by itself, a very handy feature for the city. Available soon at Vauxhall dealers starting from £11,255.
