Airport lounges tend to be quite cold, unwelcoming places to be but Helsinki’s Vantaa airport wants to change that view. Design inspiration comes from the traditional Finish home with large wooden cabinets, countertops and tables that are complimented by sharp polished aluminium utilities. Recycled furniture is used throughout to add to the lounges eco credentials whilst maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. It’s great to see an airport inject some local culture and tradition into their lounges whilst many worldwide use the same dull look and feel.

The trend in pocket t-shirts continues and street wear brand The Quiet Life collaborates with UK online shop Flatspot to create some. Taking inspiration from a watch print, the shirts come in either a black or white colourway with a small pocket on the right chest. Available now through Flatspot for £30 a piece.

London based clothing brand Folk have released these sweaters in the midst of on going cold weather in 2012. Made from 100% premium cotton the sweaters are unbranded and incredibly subtle in their take on the classic crew neck design. Who says space heaters are out of the realm of good industrial design? Crane combats this with their sharp looking space heater which comes in 600/1200 watt flavours. A glossy front compliments the silver metal side panels which are apparently cool to the touch even after the heater has been on. Available now at Crane stockists including Target.

Apartments in New York City have some of the best views in the world and this surely has to be one of the best. Built in the Time Warner Centre in Columbus Square, the apartment covers some 4,000 square feet and comes with floor to ceiling windows, marble baths, bedrooms with views of central park and an entertainment system that covers the entire home with touch screen controls. Retro Super Future give us a taste of what lies ahead with the release of the Visiva series sunglasses. Adding a fish illustration by Louis Renard from the 1700′s completely transforms the look of the insides of the shades, a theme which Super has been carrying for some time now.
